EMS Unlimited Medical and Rescue Training
#allthingsEMS includes medical and rescue training offered across the country. Courses are offered at our EMS and Rescue Training Center located in Rifle Colorado or on-site at a location of your choosing. Course delivery may include full on-site instructor led, hybrid learning with live and/or recorded lectures or fully remote web based instruction.
Our courses are built to serve individuals, healthcare and rescue organizations in addition to businesses, clubs and many industries. EMS Unlimited Special Event clients use our CPR, AED and First Aid Training as a tool to not only better prepare their volunteers for serving event participants but also to attract volunteers and keep them coming back each year.

Only an event producer can really understand how much work and time goes into recruiting, scheduling and coordinating volunteers. Don’t send them out under prepared. The EMS Unlimited EMS & Rescue Training Center located in beautiful Rifle, Colorado is a centralized classroom for many of our course offerings. Every professional course we provide can be taught at this location. Enjoy easy access directly off the interstate, clean facilities and restrooms. Lead by ASHI’s trained instructors, this CPR and AED refresher course is designed specifically for non-medical professionals, needing to renew their certification after the 2 year certification period. This course is an excellent choice for CPR and defibrillator training in both community and workplace settings. This CPR and AED course conforms to the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. This course is led by ASHI Certified Instructors, the basic first aid course helps students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
Led by State of Colorado and ASHI Certified instructors. This course will cover skills review and then verification of competency in the following areas: Introduction/Preparatory, Patient Assessment, Overview of Shock, Airway Management, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Special Patient Populations, EMS Operations, and Hot Topics. There will be a written evaluation, practical skills check-off, and practical evaluations (patient-medical, patient-trauma, and airway management). All content is with in the State of Colorado guidelines and NREMT Skill verification is completed at the skills check off setting students up to take the NREMT CBT Test.

The hybrid course will be online through the Jones and Bartlett classroom as well as 3 Saturdays in person. Virtual classroom information will be emailed to prior to the class start date and the in-person dates will be at the EMS Unlimited Rifle Base 1828 Enterprise Court.
Wilderness First Aid (WFA)
Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. This course is led by NOLS and ASHI Certified instructors/providers, this Wilderness First Aid class places the providers in a remote outdoor setting and better prepares them to respond with wilderness first aid training when faced with limited resources, longer times to care for someone, and decisions about when and how fast to evacuate an ill or injured person.
This comprehensive 16-hour wilderness first aid course meets or exceeds the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, 2017 Edition.
Wilderness First Aid Classes topics include:

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Led by HSI approved instructors, the HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) program is for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in high-quality CPR skills and teamwork for the adult, child, and infant.
HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) reflects the latest resuscitation science and treatment recommendations published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), and it conforms with the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC and the annual Guidelines Update. Continuing Education Hours Available: Emergency Medical Services (CAPCE) and Dental Professionals (AGD/PACE).
Intended audience: Individuals who are healthcare providers (in and out of hospital), public safety professionals in a variety of occupational settings, or individuals enrolled in healthcare and public safety career training programs who require BLS training.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers – RECERT
Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. ASHI’s Basic Life Support, BLS course for Healthcare Providers and Professional Rescuers has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Intended Audience: Individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level basic life support training and currently BLS certified.
EMT IV Endorsement
EMT Refresher Course
An EMT refresher course that is designed to meet the recertification requirements for the State of Colorado and/or a portion of the recertification requirements for the National Registry.

This course will cover skills review and then verification of competency in the following areas.
EMT’s: Patient Assessment/Management – Medical, Patient Assessment/Management – Trauma, Bag Valve – Mask (Apneic Adult Patient), Oxygen Administration by Non-rebreather Mask, Cardiac Arrest Management/AED, Spinal Immobilization (Supine Patient), and One Random Basic Skill (bleeding control, long-bone immobilization, or joint immobilization).
Paramedic’s: Patient Assessment – Trauma, Dynamic Cardiology, Static Cardiology, Oral Station Scenarios, and an Integrated Out-Of-Hospital Scenario.

Healthcare professionals who are currently current EMTs or Paramedics and need to have skills verified to qualify for State/NREMT Recertification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
ASHI Advanced Cardiac Life Support program is a scenario (case-based) continuing education ACLS course intended for trained and skilled healthcare providers who either direct or participate in cardiopulmonary emergencies and resuscitation efforts. This ACLS certification course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to enhance and refine knowledge and hands-on skill proficiency in emergency cardiovascular care. ASHI’s ACLS training program conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. A digital copy of the course book is included with the course price. Prerequisites: All individuals who participate in an ASHI ACLS class must be previously trained, skilled, and be able to: perform high-quality basic life support (BLS), read and interpret basic electrocardiograms (ECG), understand cardiovascular pharmacology, prepare and administer essential cardiovascular medications.
ACLS - Renewal Certification
ASHI Advanced Cardiac Life Support program is a scenario (case-based) continuing education ACLS course intended for trained and skilled healthcare providers who either direct or participate in cardiopulmonary emergencies and resuscitation efforts. This ACLS certification course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to enhance and refine knowledge and hands-on skill proficiency in emergency cardiovascular care. ASHI’s ACLS training program conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. A digital copy of the course book is included with the course price. The virtual course will include online modules reviewing all course material. The skills test will be a 30 minutes scheduled session in person at our Rifle location. TECC/TCCC - Tactical Emergency/Combat Casualty Care
This course is led by International Prehospital Medicine Institute and US Military approved instructors. The TCCC/ Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) is a course for EMS Providers who may find themselves operating in a tactical or austere environment. The course is a combination of topic presentations followed by skill and escalating scenarios stations. The course utilizes the guidelines published by the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care and carries the Recognized Educational Content endorsement from C-TECC International Prehospital Medicine Institute
